Do I Get to Choose My Keywords?
The short answer is yes, but we typically give you a list of 5 targets that you agree to upfront as some targets are more challenging to penetrate than others. We need to ensure we guide the selection process to ensure we achieve performance outcomes. We accept a brief and have a conversation during the onboarding process to ensure the customer understands that we are selecting keywords and optimizing for performance outcomes based on our experience and according to Google GMB Guidelines.
30 Day Guarantee – Eligibility.
For optimization to be improved in a short period (i.e., 30 days), there must be existing relevancy established, which we can boost. For example, we need to see the GMB appear somewhere in the maps for the keyword; anywhere between positions 1-20 is fine. If there is no relevance established, it will take additional time for us to develop before boosting. For more information, see “Keyword Selection Process.”
Requirements to Get Started
To ensure a fast turnaround with your solution, please be ready with your GMB Access, Domain Access, Keyword Preference, and Target Locations. Having access to both your Domain and GMB Listing is paramount. Additionally, during onboarding, we will confirm keyword targets and locations as well as add any additional images or images you wish to provide.
GMB Access: Before you place your order ensure you have “owner access” to your GMB solution so that you are able to grant “manager access” to our agency accounts. We will require this for production.
Complete the following 3 actions to get your Get Found Accelerator started:
- Complete this Onboarding Form.
- Provide access to Google My Business site manager:
- Log into GBP/GMB profile
- Scroll down to users and click
- Click add users
- Add each of these two numbers individually into the names or email field:
- 5375232154 (Brand Signals GMB), 5741278201 (Proximity Booster), and 5870428207 (Get Found Accelerator Management)
- Choose role as manager
- Click invite
Ensure you have added all 3 Admin Numbers.
- We’ll be created a number of landing pages matching your keywords and locations. To provide a digital location for your landing pages, add the Get Found Accelerator “A Records” to your domain. This will connect your Get Found Accelerator solution to a subdomain so it becomes “local.yourdomain.tld” (TLD is your top-level domain, for example: .com or .com.au as a ccTLD). If you don’t have a domain that is accessible, we can purchase one on your behalf, simply speak to your sales consultant to have it ordered and purchased. Domain DNS Settings: Please add the following A records to your nominated domain: 52.27.96.232 & 54.69.13.213 The following instructions will help in completing this setup.

Keyword Preference: During onboarding, we will lock down the set of keywords/services used for both the GMB Optimization and the creation of Local Landing Pages. Combined with the locations, these should not be changed during the program as changes affect performance; they are locked for the first 30 days to ensure performance.
Location Targeting: During onboarding, we will lock down the set of locations used to create Local Landing Pages. We will discuss your preferences and look at what is physically surrounding your primary site to determine the optimal list. Combined with the keywords, these should not be changed during the program as changes affect performance; they are locked for the first 30 days to ensure performance.

Keyword Selection Process
Keywords that have existing relevancy to the GMB are best to start with.
- Always try to use the Primary GMB category as one of the keywords
- Relevant Website Product Page Keywords The easier way to do this is to ensure that they have a page on the website for their keyword. (Example: Plumbing repairs page with the keyword in the title and H1 tag preferred. If not just in the title.) site:URL Search, the second check is to ensure they appear in GMB Maps in position 4-20
- Then the GMB sub-categories (only if relevant and not too similar to the primary category)
- Search Phases: Consider the Products/Services that are most valuable to your business, what are the “Jobs to be done” that a consumer is wanting your business to provide.
Note: Typically we look for 5-7 Keywords, however, don’t add them for the sake of it, it is best to think of what is most valuable to your business. You cannot rank for other brands/trademarks. Ie Google My Business / Adwords

Initial Optimization Period
During the first 30 days it is important to allow the scheduled jobs to take place without interruption. This is why we validate keywords and target locations prior to publish. Once the initial period is complete it is possible to make required changes, however we do not recommend changing keywords or locations unless absolutely necessary.
Reporting Dashboard
The reporting dashboard is where the User (Customer) is able to see a full breakdown of all Impressions, Engagement and Leads which have been delivered as a result of the package. We source the data direct from Google Analytics API, Google My Business Insights API, Google Search Console API in addition to the grid reports.
There is expected fluctuation in the initial ranking period, typically we see the GMB performance start to move while the Landing pages are being discovered and building relevancy. You may also see fluctuations in traffic as a result of the signal boosting which is part of how we build prominence. For more information please refer to the knowledge base article.
Proximity Booster is expected to achieve fast rankings and improved GMB prominence in a short period of time, this leads to more consumers being exposed to the business and able to connect.
How to make changes to content
Locations and keyword targeting should not be changed during the program as it affects performance, the longer they are live the stronger the signals and better the outcome.
Content changes to the landing page and GMB are ok, if the customer has updated content or improved content these changes can be requested by emailing proximity@digitalmarketingpeople.ca
Changes received will be applied to the Landing Pages, GMB and Citations where applicable. Changes are typically live within 4 days of receipt.
